Day 45(*ish):  A Doll A Day While I'm Away

Doll:  Kourtney

Backstory:  Kourtney was the lead singer in a popular 1990's grunge band.  She had a torrid love affair with another famous grunge figure of the time.  The marriage did not end well and took it's toll on the already unstable Kourtney.  She spent about a decade living a life of hard drugs and alchohol.  At one point, her partying ways cost her the custody of her daughter, Sprout.  Eventually in 2010, Kourtney found Buddha and began rebuilding her relationship with Sprout.  Soon after, Kourtney traded her bottles of Whiskey for Acai smoothies and green juices.  Though never able to shed her bad girl public image, Kourtney eventually patched up her personal relationships before her shocking death in 2012.  She died in a freak recreational iceskating collision.

Doll:  Shelby

Backstory:  Shelby was a Dallas girl through and through.  She was a debutante and the daughter of a wealthy doll senator.  Shelby liked big hair, gymnast bangs, Tiffany Bean necklaces, small dogs and catch phrases.

Day 43(*ish):  A Doll A Day While I’m Away

Doll:  Yelena

Backstory:  Yelena was a shepherdess.  In her small Alpine Village, she was the apple of every man’s eye.  However, Yelena preferred the company of her sheep to the company of those pesky shepherd suitors.  In fact, it was rumored that Yelena harbored romantic feelings for one special sheep in particular, Sylvio.  When news of this love spread, the town just assumed that young Yelena was completely bonkers.  All the same, Yelena enjoyed reading the poetry of John Dunne to the handsome sheep Sylvio, and did so until the day Sylvio died (due to a painful disease that infected his stomach and bowels).

Doll:  Cherry!

Backstory:  Cherry was a hippie.  She lived off of the land.  Her carbon footprint was minimal.  Her best friends were a bobcat named Al and an oak tree named Lulu.  Cherry made hemp necklaces and bottled her own unique blend of essential oils.  She was an amazing square dancer!  Amazing!

Day 41(*ish):  A Doll A Day While I’m Away

Date:  2/26/12

Doll:  Ellie!

Backstory: Ellie moved from Bakersville, CA to Hollywood in 1972.  She was prom queen and voted most likely to succeed in her senior class yearbook.  So naturally, she booked it to Hollywood on her 18^th birthday with stars in her eyes.  Ellie was determined to become the next Jane Fonda!  Sadly, life in LA was not all palm trees and sunshine.  Unable to get work as an actress or model (as had been the initial goal), she took a job as a waitress at Casa Mexicana, where she wore traditional Mexican garb and made guacamole tableside for drunken college students.  When she died in 2006, her diary was uncovered and somehow ended up in the hands of Stephen Spielberg (long story).  The film, The Life of Senorita Ellie, is currently in post-production and scheduled for release in December of 2012.  There is already Oscar buzz.
